Leave your float and gear safely parked at Sunninghill and ride the beautiful Railway Reserves Heritage Trail that runs past the front of the property. The trail is a wide safe scenic ride through bushland which is reserved for the use of hikers, pushbikes and horses (vehicles and trail bikes are prohibited). You can even ride the trail to the Helena Valley Tavern where they have tie up rails for your horses and you can enjoy a refreshing drink or casual lunch before the return ride. Back at Sunninghill you can wash up and have a cuppa in the Upper Stables before reloading and floating home after great day out for you and your horse. Park and ride is $10 per horse.
The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail follows the route of the old Eastern Railway and is unique in providing a 41 kilometre loop entirely on railway formations. This extensive trail passes through many hills communities and covers a wide range of terrains with scenic views and numerous points of historical and natural significance.
The ride from Sunninghill Equestrian Centre to Helena Valley Tavern is 40 minutes each way.
Please contact us in advance to book your arrival time. (Bookings are essential - this is a complimentary service for the horse community provided by Sunninghill for private horse riders, but please note that we may not be able to accommodate float parking at times when we have large events being held.)
